Another Bright Spot in the Gaylord Diocese

Among the positive developments in the Gaylord Diocese, the Traditional Latin Mass parish of St. Thomas Aquinas in Elmira is notable.  This community of faithful Catholics is growing and is very active, with numerous families taking part in growing this parish.  The Traditional Latin Mass is offered every Sunday at 3 PM.

The community has recently received approval from Bishop Walsh to install an altar rail in the church.  This was recently announced during the Mass by Fr. Brad Nursey, one of the priests of the Gaylord Diocese that offers this Mass to the community.  A generous donor has initiated a capital campaign with a substantial donation of $20,000 to help fund the project.  This endeavor will include major upgrades in the sanctuary in addition to the altar rail, with a total cost of $40,000.

In an era, especially post-COVID church shutdowns, where churches are struggling for parishioners and involvement, the Traditional Latin Mass community of St. Thomas Aquinas is a great example of dedication and vigor.
