Fr. Tyler Bischoff is listed on the Diocesan website as on a ” leave of absence for personal reasons”. Gaylord Diocesan Watch recently received a copy of a social media posting from Fr. Tyler Bischoff. It was listed on the Facebook page of Perry Middle & High School:
My name is Tyler Bischoff and I was born and raised in Tawas City, MI, and am the oldest of three siblings. At 36 years old, I’m a proud new uncle for the first time! I love running, staying active, and in the summer months, sailing my boat on Lake Huron. I enjoy music and play the trumpet, oboe, and saxophone. I have coached cross country and track and field at Tawas Area High School and Midland Dow High School.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Classical Studies from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, OH, in 2011, and later completed postgraduate studies in Theology at the Angelicum University in Rome, Italy. I speak Italian fluently and also know Spanish, Latin, and Koine Greek. Afer returning from Italy, I was ordained a Catholic priest in 2015 in Gaylord, MI and served for 10 years before transitioning into teaching.
I’m excited to join the Ramblers this fall. I’ll be teaching U.S. History and 11th Grade English. Inspired by my own high school and college teachers who made history come alive, I look forward to sharing my passion for history and literature with our students. My travels throughout Europe and the United States have given me the chance to experience many historical sites firsthand, and I’m excited to bring those stories into the classroom.

I may not act as a priest, but I will always have this until I die, even if I don’t work as a priest ever again. At 36 years old, I’m a proud new uncle for the first time! I no longer have to be a priest and work weekends, evenings, and deal with people who need Last Rites or have personal emergencies – what a bunch of inconvenient messes. I can finally have some fun on Saturdays and Sundays!

I’ve forsaken one of the most profound vocations a man can have so that I can hang with teens.
