Gaylord Diocesan Watch has been notified that Rev. Kunal Baliar Singh, a priest in the Diocese of Gaylord, has had his visa renewal denied. He will be facing possible deportation back to India at the end of this month if his appeal of this denial is not granted. Fr. Singh has been working in the Diocese of Gaylord and is currently serving the parishes of St. Anne, Cadillac, and St. Stephen, Lake City. He is here helping to meet a need due to the severe shortage of priests in the Diocese.
Gaylord Diocesan Watch is encouraging the faithful of the Diocese to contact their legislators and ask them to intervene in whatever ways possible to address this situation. Every priest who is no longer able to minister in the Diocese represents a further crisis in priestly functions of the Diocese.
